Bachlorette Party Ideas: The Driftwood Estate Winery

Bachelorette Parties are a great time to share memories with the bride before her big day. Typical bachelorette parties usually involve a big dinner and night on the town with the girls. Although this can be fun, it can also be a little cliché.  For maids of honors who have the honorable task of planning their best friends special day, the decision of where and what to do for the bachelorette party can often be nerve-wrecking.

Here’ s a fresh and fun idea that still keeps the attention of the bride before her big day, but allows a small road trip and great bonding time with the girls. A Winery.

Wineries are slowly but surely becoming a huge fad for bachelorette parties. Wineries are great because they provide a day-time setting for relaxation and casual drinking with friends. Some wineries even allow customers to provide their own beer for people who aren’t fond of wine. A favorite Texas Winery of the Sky Room’s is the Driftwood Estate Winery located in Driftwood, Texas.  This winery embodies the spirit and heart of Texas by producing Texas wines using fresh Texas grapes. Not only is the selection of wine abundant, but the setting is to die for. Enjoy the wine of your preference under shady oak trees with chairs provided, or under the newly renovated Pavilion located directly next to the tasting room. If those preferences don’t interest you, enjoy your Texas wine from the 1,100 square foot deck overlooking the vineyard that produces the wine of your choosing.

Inside of the wine-filled gift shop, a friendly staff awaits. The staff allows you to try any of their wines in small tasting glasses. The staff usually provides a brief overview of the wine you are tasting and suggests different foods to try it with. The gift shop also offers assorted crackers and cheeses for small appetizers to accompany your wine. The price for the tasting of five wines is only five dollars and a military discount is offered as well. It usually doesn’t take five tasting to find a wine that is right for you however, and bottles are available for purchase to enjoy by the vineyard.

The winery setting is a great place for relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle that comes with the planning of weddings. Some winderys have limo services that agree to take the bridal party to the winery so that wine and drinks may be enjoyed on the way. The Driftwoof Estate Winery has shuttle buses that can answer questions and give pricing regarding the cost of renting a vehicle for the day of the party. The Driftwood Estate Winery is a beautiful way to enjoy wine with friends and since the winery is open from 10 a.m- 5:45 p.m., there is plenty of time for a dinner or a girls night out. Tips for Wedding Toasts

Wedding Toasts are a great way to celebrate the special couple’s day, but they can also become extremely nerve-wrecking when it comes time to decide the right things to say. Take a look at these helpful hints for toast giving and the guidelines to stay within while doing so.

Father of the Bride: Usually the Father of the Brides toast will come first. This is often one of the more sentimental speeches, as he focuses on his “little girl” and how far she has come to this date in time.  The father of the bride should begin by thanking all family and guests for attending the reception. This also lightens the mood and helps guests to feel more relaxed in their setting. Following Compliments to the groom and best wishes for their life together are a great way to end the toast.

Best Man: This toast is often the most light- hearted and humorous toast of them all.  A good way to begin this toast is with  the best man introducing himself and his relationship with the groom. Often the best man will reflect on one or two memorable experiences with the groom, however, these memories should remain tasteful and not reveal embarrassing or humiliating information. He should then say something positive about the groom and his bride while wishing them the best of luck in the future.

Maid of Honor: This is often the most sentimental toast besides the Father of the Bride. This speech usually focuses on the special relationship or bond that the maid of honor shares with the bride and memorable details referring to their relationship thus far. Usually the best man and maid of honor end with a toast to the newly wedded couple and wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors.

With these pointers handy, structuring a well thought out toast should no longer be so difficult. Remember to stray away from embarrassing or humiliating facts and not venture too far into the relationship between you and the bride or groom, as this is their special day. Be careful to not over drink prior to your toast so that you can present yourself in a classy and tasteful manner. Also, don’t worry about reciting a speech word for word. This often causes too much pressure and leads to messy speeches. Let your words come from the heart and remain tasteful in doing so.

Date Night Wardrobe!

Hey Sky Room followers and brides!,

Valentines Day is just around the corner, and the Sky Room is ready to host your wonderful evening. We all know this special day is about love and spending quality time with your hunny so heres a few tips on great Valentines date outfits that you can wear on your hot date in the Sky Room.

You can never go wrong with a “little black dress.” Coco Chanel was the founder of this wonderful wardrobe piece and has coined it as a classic for  women of any size or shape. Little black dresses are great because they can be worn as a casual piece during the day, and easily dressed up for the evening. They also are a “must-have” for a wardrobe because there are different styles to fit different body types.

Athletic Figure: A boat neck black dress that falls right above the knee is great for anyone with this body type. It shows off athletic legs without exposing too much, and accentuates toned arms and shoulders.

Busty Figure: V- neck black dresses are best for this body type. A v-cut offers support for your bust and can be found in short sleeve or sleeveless styles. Long dangle  earrings also work well with this style, along with a small dainty necklace to accentuate the neckline.

Pear- Shaped: Long sleeve fitted dresses that fall right above the knee are a great way to still show some skin while remaining classy on top. Large statement necklaces look great with long sleeved dresses as they break the black with a dazzling piece of jewelry.

Accessories for all shapes and sizes: As stated above, jewelry is a great accessory for women of any size or shape. Adding a statement piece, whether it be a large bracelet, or necklace, can make or break an outfit. The great thing about black dresses is that most jewelry looks great on black. Have fun playing around with different pieces and figuring out what makes you look most fabulous! Play around with shawls or “fancy looking” scarves” that can be draped over your dress for a classy feel. Fur minks are coming back in as well! Try a short black mink over any black dress, or utilize a longer one for outerwear!

Black dresses are great for any occasion and apply to women of all ages. Once you find a good basic, a different wardrobe can be created each time you wear it! We look forward to seeing you classy ladies in the Sky Room Valentines night! Stay tuned for out next blog post with lots of great fashion tips!
